FILE INFO
CaptionThe sons of King Prachinabarhi, known as the Prachetas, underwent severe austeries within the seawater to carry out the order of their father. Standing within the sea for ten thousand years, they chanted the prayers given to them by Lord Shiva and they were able to satisfy Lord Vishnu, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. To reward them for their austerities, the Supreme Lord appeared before them. Riding on the shoulder of Garuda, the Lord seemed like a cloud resting on the summit of the mountain called Meru. He wore attractive yellow garments and His neck was decorated with the Kaustubha-mani jewel. The Lord's bodily effulgence dissipated all the darkness of the universe. His face was very beautiful and His head was decorate with a shining helmet and golden ornaments. Each of His eight arms held a particular weapon and around His neck was a flower garland that reached His knees. As the Supreme Lord approached, He looked at the Prachetas with a merciful glance.
