FILE INFO
CaptionDraupadi entered the room for her svayamvara, beautifully decorated and holding a flower garland in one hand. She was told that she could choose her husband from amongst those who could string the bow and successfully pierce the fish target. Many princes and heroic kings were present to try to win the hand of the beautiful Draupadi. Although these men were mighty warriors, none of them could even begin to string the bow. After almost the whole assembly of princes and kings had tried and failed, Arjuna, disguised in brahmana robes, rose from his seat and strode confidently toward the bow. Arjuna first circumambulated the bow and bowed his head. He fixed his mind on the lotus feet of Lord Krishna. He then strung the bow with ease. Placing an arrow on the bowstring, he carefully took aim. Arjuna's arrow pierced the fish target.
