| FILE INFO | | Caption | The Supreme Personality of Godhead first instructed the science of bhakti-yoga to the sun-god Vivasvan. The sun is the king of the planets; and the king, Vivasvan, rules the planet, which is controlling all other planets supplying them with heat and light. Then, this transcendental science was delivered by Vivasvan to Manu, the father of mankind. Manu passed it on to his son, Maharaja Iksvaku, the king of this earth planet. In this way the science of devotional service was passed down through the disciplic succession, and must be accepted as it is. However in course of time, the succession was broken, and the science as it is, appeared to be lost.
