FILE INFO | Caption | After the Yadus performed the religious ceremonies on the advice of Lord Krishna, they indulged in drinking a sweet beverage that can completely intoxicate the mind. Being so intoxicated, they began to argue with each other. Becoming more and more angry, the Yadus took up their bows and arrows, swords, spears, and clubs, and attacked each other. Completely abandoning their friendships and family relations, sons fought with fathers, brothers with brothers, nephews with uncles, grandsons with grandfathers, friends with friends, and well-wishers with well-wishers. They fought until their bows were broken; and then they seized stalks of cane, which turned to iron rods in their hands. When Lord Krishna tried to stop them, they attacked Him as well. Then they mistook Lord Balarama for an enemy and ran toward Him with the intention of killing Him. At this time, Krishna and Balarama became very angry, and also picking up cane stalks, They began to kill the Yadus who were bewildered and crazed with violence. The violent anger of the Yadus led to the annihilation of their dynasty. | Headline | The Destruction of the Yadu Dynasty | Copyright Notice | © Copyright The Bhaktivedanta Book Trust International, Inc.
