FILE INFO
CaptionThere was a devotee of Lord Krishna's by the name of Srutadeva who was very learned, peaceful and free from sense gratification. Living as a househoulder in the city of Mithila, he obtained only what he needed to sustain himself and his family; no more. The ruler of that city Mithila was also a devotee of the Lord who was free of false ego. Lord Krishna thus decided to go to that place and he traveled there with a group of sages. Among them was Narada, Vyasa, Parasurama, Asita, Sukadeva and others. As soon as people saw the Lord coming near, their faces blossomed with affection and they fell to the ground to offer obeisances. The King of Mithila and Srutadeva fell at the Lord's feet and each of them invited Lord Krishna to be their guest. Lord Krishna simultaneously went to both homes. Both the King and Srutadeva received the Lord into their homes with great enthusiasm. As Lord Krishna approached the home of Srutadeva, Srutadeva bowed down to the Lord and the sages. Then he got up and began to dance, waving his shawl with great joy.
