FILE INFO
CaptionAfter Bharata Maharaja took his morning bath in the river Gandaki, he sat on the bank to chant his mantra, and he saw a doe come to drink from the river. Just then, there was a tumultuous roar of a lion, and the doe, being frightened, immediately leaped across the river. As it jumped, a baby deer fell from its womb and was left floating down the river. The mother doe was so frightened and disturbed by her miscarriage that she fell into a cave and died. Having witnessed this, Bharata Maharaja felt great compassion for the baby deer. He rescued it from the waves and brought it to his residence.
