FILE INFO | Caption | On the day of Janmastami, Krishna's birthday, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and the devotees dressed themselves as cowherd boys. They carried pots of milk and yogurt balanced on rods over their shoulders and went to the festival grounds chanting the holy name Hari. As usual, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu danced jubilantly. Then Adwaita Acharya challenged Lord Chaitanya to wheel around a large rod. Accepting his challenge, the Lord began to wheel it around and throw it into the sky, sometimes over His head, or behind His back, sometimes to His side and even between His legs, and He would catch it as it fell back down. Nityananda Prabhu also played at wheeling the rod. Everyone laughed seeing Their play. In this way They were completely immersed in the emotions of the cowherd boys. -Summarized from Chaitanya-caritamrita, Madhya-lila 15.17-26 | Headline | Chaitanya Mahaprabhu Acts Like A Cowherd Boy | Copyright Notice | © Copyright The Bhaktivedanta Book Trust International, Inc.
