FILE INFO | Caption | Indra, the leader of the demigods, could not find his spiritual master, Brhaspati, and he feared that he had no means of achieving good fortune. The demons heard of Indra's pitiable condition and they declared war on the demigods. The demigods fled and went to take shelter of Lord Brahma. Brahma saw they had been injured by the arrows of the demons and he said, "Because of your misbehavior toward Brhaspati, you have been defeated by the demons. My dear demigods, since the demons were weak, having been defeated by you several times, how else could you, who were so advanced in opulence, be defeated by them? O Indra, your enemies, the demons, were extremely weak because of their disrespect toward Sukracharya [the spiritual master of the demons], but since they have now worshipped Sukracharya with great devotion, they have again become powerful." Brahma instructed them to approach Visvarupa and accept him as their guru. -Taken from Srimad Bhagavatam 6.7.16-25 | Headline | King Indra and the Demigods Approach Lord Brahma | Copyright Notice | © Copyright The Bhaktivedanta Book Trust International, Inc.
