FILE INFO | Caption | Dhrtarastra said, "O Sanjaya, after my sons and the sons of Pandu assembled in the place of pilgrimage at Kurukshetra, desiring to fight, what did they do?" Sanjaya explained how Duryodhana (Dhrtarastra's son) observed the opposing army and then addressed his teacher. Duryodhana said he saw many great powerful fighters on the side of the Pandava army; however, there were many qualified captains on their side who are always victorious in battle. Duryodhana said, "Our strength is immeasurable, and we are perfectly protected by Grandfather Bhīṣma, whereas the strength of the Pāṇḍavas, carefully protected by Bhīma, is limited. All of you must now give full support to Grandfather Bhīṣma, as you stand at your respective strategic points of entrance into the phalanx of the army." Then Bhisma blew his conchshell very loudly. On the other side, both Krishna and Arjuna, stationed on a great chariot drawn by white horses, sounded their transcendental conchshells. Bhima, Yudhistira, Nakula and Sahadeva also blew their conchshells and the uproarious sound vibrated in the sky and the earth and shattered the hearts of the sons of Dhrtarastra. | Headline | Dhrtarastra Inquires from Sanjaya | Copyright Notice | © Copyright The Bhaktivedanta Book Trust International, Inc.
