FILE INFO | Caption | Srila Rupa Goswami and Srila Sanatana Goswami were ministers directly in charge of the government of Nawab Hussain Shah and they were also householders, but later they became goswamis [those who control their sense gratification and serve Lord Chaitanya]. These two brothers met at Vrndavana, where they stayed to execute the will of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Srila Rupa Goswami and Sanatana Goswami collected many revealed scriptures, and from the evidence in those scriptures they excavated all the lost sites of pilgrimage. Thus they established temples for the worship of Lord Krishna. Being empowered by Lord Chaitanya, they both compiled many transcendental literatures to spread the bhakti cult. | Headline | Srila Rupa and Sanatana Goswamis | Copyright Notice | © Copyright The Bhaktivedanta Book Trust International, Inc.
