FILE INFO | Caption | Bharat Maharaja renounced his kingdom to perform austerities and live as a mendicant. While living in the forest, he came across a deer who had lost its mother, and began to take care of it. At the time of his death, he had become so affectionate and attached to this deer, that he thought of the deer just before leaving his body. Therefore, in his next life, he took birth as a deer.
